Why a Health Coach

      A Physician typically treats illnesses and subsequent symptoms with necessary procedures and medication. A health coach can assist a physician in that a patient can be guided to better nutrition and lifestyle choices in order to speed up the recovery. A health coach can also help prevent debilitating illness by introducing preventative lifestyle changes and dietary choices. With the necessary determination certain chronic illnesses can possibly be managed without medication or can even be reversed. None of this would be possible without a strong foundation of self-care and balanced emotional well-being.

      Hello, I'm Ronell. I was born and raised in South Africa. After graduating from college, I moved to Los Angeles and years later to Nashville, Tennessee. 13 years ago, shortly after moving, I developed an autoimmune disease called Rheumatoid Arthritis and it stared with a vengeance in my hands and ankles. It was getting worse by the day and since I was a single mom of a five year-old son I had no choice but to find a way to function. I said goodbye to my days of painting and suffered my first and, thank goodness, only panic attack. I was told that there was no cure for RA so I tried to mentally prepare for a life with a debilitating illness. I could not except this.

      I did some research and found a book written by Dr. Barbara Allan called “Conquering Arthritis – what doctors don’t tell you because they don’t know.” This led to more books and I had hope for the first time. I did a five day juice fast and was astounded that my pain went away after the third day. By the fifth day I was completely pain free only for all the pain to return within 20 minutes after breaking my fast by eating a small potato. I had multiple food sensitivities that I was unaware of and this was my “aha” moment. I was now in charge of this condition and I felt on top of the world! It took a year of commitment, study, trial and error and dedication and I was able to get my RA into remission. 
      I became more and more interested in the amazing ability of the body to heal itself and felt a desire to share my experience of healing with others. I am also a very dedicated detective when it comes to unanswered health questions, symptoms and confusion. 
      The body is a very complex system with a profound “language” and it communicates with us daily, telling us how to heal and thrive if we listen and follow through. My mission is to help translate this “language” into practical, accurate steps toward better mental and physical wellbeing.
